Proposed county budget includes tax increase
The Chester County Budget Committee met Monday evening for a final consideration of the upcoming 2024-2025 budget.
The proposed budget is included in this issue of the Chester County Independent on Page 7-A. During Monday’s meeting, Chester County Budget Committee Chair Ann Moore stated, “We have had to do everything we could do to keep from having a huge tax increase,” she said. “This budget includes a 15-cent property tax for property taxes.”
On a $100,000 property, a 0.15 tax increase would be $38.
The Chester County Commission is scheduled to meet in its entirety at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at the Chester County Courthouse, where they will vote on the budget.
