Several dates are quickly approaching for the upcoming elections in Chester County. Thursday, August 1, will be the State and Federal Primary/State and County General Election.
Primary elections will be held for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives (District 8), Tennessee Senate (District 26), and Tennessee House of Representatives (District 72). General elections will be held for vacant state judicial offices and applicable county offices.
- Voter Registration Deadline is Tuesday, July 2.
- Early Voting is Friday, July 12 – Saturday, July 27.
- Absentee Ballot Request Deadline is Thursday, July 25.
Tuesday, November 5, Super Tuesday, is the State and Federal General Election.
All candidates (including independents) for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives (District 8), Tennessee Senate (District 26), and Tennessee House of Representatives (District 72) must follow the qualifying dates for the August election. Independent presidential candidates and candidates for municipal elections held with the November election use the qualifying dates below apply.
Independent Presidential Candidates - First Day to Pick Up Petitions was on Friday, May 17 (currently open until the deadline).
- Qualifying Deadline is noon, Thursday, August 15.
- Withdrawal Deadline is noon, Thursday, August 22.
Municipal Candidates - First Day to Pick Up Petitions was on Monday, June 17 (currently open until the deadline).
- Petitions are expected to open for Chester County Sheriff on Friday, July 5.
- Qualifying Deadline is noon, Thursday, August 15.
- Withdrawal Deadline is noon, Thursday, August 22.
- Voter Registration Deadline is Monday, October 7.
- Early Voting is Wednesday, October 16 – Thursday, October 31.
- Absentee Ballot Request Deadline is Tuesday, October 29.
