Bethel University will host the 2023 Hendrix Scholarship competition on Feb. 24-25, 2023 with the application deadline set for Feb. 16.
The Hendrix Scholarship Competition is an annual, two-day event where qualifying students participate in an essay, academic exam, and interview. The winner will receive a scholarship covering full tuition with room and board, and the runner-up will receive a full tuition scholarship. Each student must maintain a 3.6 GPA to be eligible for scholarship renewal. All other students in the competition will be considered for other Bethel academic scholarships.
“Each year, this scholarship competition brings the best-of-the-best high school seniors together,” said Dr. Walter Butler, president of Bethel University. “This competition is intense and the winner can know that this will help them achieve their long term goals.”
Tina Hodges, director of recruitment and admissions, noted that participating students must be high school seniors with at least a 3.25 GPA and a 23/1130 or above ACT/SAT score to be considered for the competition. “The Hendrix Scholarship Competition is a great opportunity for high school seniors considering a private, liberal arts, Christian university,” Hodges added.
Applicants may apply to participate in the scholarship competition by visiting www.bethelu.edu/admissions/tuition-and-fees/scholarships/hendrix, requesting that their high school transcripts be sent directly to Bethel University, and sending their ACT/SAT scores via mail, email, or fax.
The Hendrix Scholarship Competition was established in 1988 by Willard R. Hendrix, grandson of former Bethel University President W.W. Hendrix, to pay tribute to President Hendrix and connect the university with deserving and academically gifted students.
