Bobby Smith Obituary – JULY 23, 1933 – DEC. 16, 2021

Bobby Gene Smith, 88, of Beech Bluff died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Pallbearers were Thomas Smith, Eric Church, Louis Pham, Jeff Smith, Joey Smith, Phil Stanfill and Joe Fuller.  Daniel Grooms and Doug Stanfill served as honorary pallbearers.
The family received friends at the Shackelford’s Crook Avenue chapel beginning at noon until service time at 2 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to New Pathways for Children, P.O. Box 10, Melber, KY 42069; or Youth Town, 3641 Youth Town Road, Pinson, TN  38366.         
Born July 23, 1933, he was the sixth child and younger of twins born to Clifford and Vivian Jones Smith. He was raised in the Plainview Community and was a life-long resident of Chester County.
He performed many roles over his lifetime: son, brother, twin, husband, “Daddy,” daddy in law, “Granddaddy,” “GrandBobby,”  “Cigar,” Christian, uncle, prankster and friend. A member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church, he previously served on the Chester County Commission and legally performed several weddings. A reputable used car dealer, he enjoyed a career that spanned over 50 years and served generations of Chester County families. Prior to his failing health, he enjoyed his position at the “round table at Jacks” where he was a champion for the rights of unborn children and a patriotic fiscal conservative.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine L. Smith; children, Dr. Bobby A. (Dr. Susan Smith) Smith of Sandy Springs, Ga., Anita (Page) Smith Hart of Dyersburg, Lisa (Jeff) Rhodes Church of Waco, Texas, and Mark H. (Tonja) Rhodes of Hickory Creek, Texas; five grandchildren, Thomas (Marlena) Smith, Christina Smith, Teresa Smith, Eric (Bridget) Church, Olivia (Louis) Pham; and three great-grandchildren, Laura Smith, Wyatt Church and Tenley Church.      
 He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Juanez Knipper, Ruth Spence, Sue Naylor, Glenn Smith, twin-sister Robbie Stanfill and William Roy Smith.
