Bonnie Marie Roland Hooper, 92, of Bolivar passed away May 25, 2021 at Pine Meadows Nursing Home. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue with Roger Hatch and Dennis McMahan officiating. Burial was at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Silerton. The family received friends at Crook Ave. from noon-2 p.m. service time Thursday.
She was born in Chester County Oct. 17, 1928, daughter of the late CC. “Tip” and Lou Violet Isbell Roland. She attended school in Woodville. She married Kenneth Edwin “Buster” Hooper in 1947, and they made their home in Hornsby. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, and raising flowers.
She loved her cats and being with her family and grandkids.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Hooper of Henderson, Vincent Hooper of Hornsby, Mike (Liz) Hooper of Gastonia, N.C., Jerry Hooper of Hornsby, Jimmy Hooper of Hornsby and Gary Hooper of Silerton; daughters, Patsy Wilbanks of Walnut, Miss., Janetta Hooper of Walnut, Miss., and Linda (Christopher) Fitch of Memphis; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, W. T. (Ellna Mae) Roland of Henderson
She was preceded in death by her husband, “Buster” Kenneth Edwin Hooper; brothers, Willard Roland and Robert Roland; a sister, Imogene Moore; and an infant son.
