BUTCH FARLEY Obituary – July 26, 1953 – Oct. 3, 2022

David Monroe Farley, 69, of Beech Bluff passed away Oct. 3, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with William Bryant officiating. Burial followed in Cave Springs Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.
He was born July 26, 1953 in Chester County, the son of the late Freeman Clarke and Jean Mosier Farley. He went to school in Chester County. He was a mechanic in the U.S. Army from 1971 until 1973. He was a sub-contractor, burring underground cable, working for Waley Construction, Deveny Construction and then worked for the Chester County Highway Department, retiring as foreman. He enjoyed gardening and playing with his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Smith Farley; a son David Ray Farley of Finger; one daughter, Sherry Kay (Dusty) Ellis of Milan; five grandchildren, McKinley Brooke Whitwell, Blake Battaglia, Jolie Battaglia, Leah Ellis and Hunter Ellis; a great-granddaughter, Alivia Battaglia; and one brother, Tony Farley of McNairy.    
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Crystal Smith in 2012; one sister, Billie Jean Pickett; and three brothers, Mickey Farley, Tommy Farley and Joe Neal Farley.
