The Butterball Turkey Talk-Line has returned for its 43rd season. The Talk-Line has been a staple for Thanksgiving cooks and hosts for decades, assisting millions of holiday hosts since it launched in 1981.
New this year, Butterball is partnering with StoryCorps Studios, the brand storytelling division of StoryCorps, a national nonprofit that records and preserves conversations at the Library of Congress between everyday Americans. Together, Butterball and StoryCorps Studios are creating the National Thanksgiving Archive — a collection of conversations about Thanksgiving memories and traditions that remind us of what we have in common this holiday season.
Beginning today, in an effort to foster togetherness through positive connection this holiday, consumers are encouraged to visit storycorps.org/national-thanksgivingarchive and record a conversation with a loved one. The website features instructions, helpful recording tips, and timely conversation prompts.
Those that record will then have the option to submit their recording to the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, the largest single collection of human stories ever gathered. Later in November, the stories submitted to the National Thanksgiving Archive will be unveiled on Butterball and StoryCorps social media platforms, just in time to remind us of the joys of gathering with friends and family.
