The Liberty Tech Magnet School Crusaders did not stand a chance against Chester County last Friday night.
The first half put up some scary numbers as the Eagles scored 49 points during the half. The Crusaders only put up 12 in the first half and 12 in the game as a whole.
With a final score of 56-12, the Eagles move on to the playoffs in a matchup versus Marshall County at Lewisburg.
The Eagles ended the regular season ranked at number three in the region.
The order of the regional teams and their overall records goes as follows: Lexington (7-3), Hardin County (6-3), Chester County (6-4), Jackson South Side (3-7), McNairy Central (1-9) and Liberty Tech (0-10).
With this challenging game ahead Friday night, Head Coach Dewond Johnson said this is the moment the team has been waiting for all season.
“The guys have been waiting for this all year.; as far as getting ready for the playoffs. We have a big task, but I think our guys are going to be ready to go,” he said.
Johnson wanted to thank the Chester County Football supporters and fans for all they have done throughout the season.
“Chester County really showed out with the fan support,” he said. “Even though tonight, we’re playing a team that was 0-9, we still had a great turnout and we appreciate everything that this community has done for us.”
