CCHS takes two from Scotts Hill

The ever-improving Chester County Lady Eagles picked up their first win of the season against Scotts Hill, defeating them 44-41 in a close one. Scotts Hill came out of the gate scoring nine on consecutive three pointers. The Lady Eagles were limited to five points and were down 12-5 at the end of the first.
The Eaglettes settled down in the second quarter, scoring 14 points and controlling the boards to keep the ball away from Scotts Hill. The Eaglettes led by one at the half 19-18. Chester County added to its lead in the third quarter 32-23. The Lady Eagles fought for everything on offense and defense in the fourth and came out on top 44-41. Leading scorers for the game were: JuJu Prather with 21; Kloe Taylor with 12; Hannah Cherry with seven and Karley Heinsohn with three. The boy’s game was even more of a nail biter with the Eagles pulling out a two-point win 67-65 after trailing most of the game.
Chester County was trailing 4-11 in the first quarter, trailing by seven. The margin grew in the second quarter with the Eagles trailing by 12 at halftime 25-37. The Eagles added 22 points to its score in the third, but Scotts Hill continued to dominate, leading 58-47 at the end of the quarter. Down 11 the Eagles had a lot to prove in the final quarter. Their shooting and rebounding were much improved, and they methodically worked to close the scoring gap. The Eagles took the lead with 10 seconds on the clock and pulled out the squeaker. Leading scorers for the Eagles were: Aiden Welch with 21; Christian Swift with 14; Christian Halford with 11; Jayden Williams with 10; Isiah Stafford and Jayce Goff both with three; and Lane Estes with two. The Eagles were on point from the three-point line. Swift had four, Halford three, Goff and Stafford had one each.
