Charles Ray “Charlie” Beacham of Luray passed away July 22, 2022 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Graveside Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, at Clarks Creek Cemetery with Jim Greenslade and Joey Hufstedler officiating.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1950 in Henderson, the son of the late Floyd and Maurine Holder Beacham.
He graduated from Chester County High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Nancy Taylor on Nov. 19, 1974, and they enjoyed almost 48 years together.
He retired from Henderson Home Furnishings in 2017 and had worked many years at Franklin Furnishings in Jackson.
He loved sports and played football and baseball.  He also loved the outdoors, gardening and planting trees. He enjoyed traveling, and he and Nancy went on 20 cruises.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Beacham of the home in Luray ; a son, Charles Beacham II of the home in Luray; four sisters, Wanda Beacham Cook of the Montezuma Community of Chester County, Jane Beacham Moore and Mary Beacham Brown both of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Judy Beacham Greenslade of Elkins, Ark; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerry Beacham and Robert F. Beacham, Jr.; and a sister, Thelma Joyce Beacham Vincent.
