Chester County Junior High School students in sixth through eighth grades attended Ag Day May 4, presented by 4-H and community members, showcasing different aspects of the agricultural industry. Agriculture plays a vital role in Tennessee with more than 40% of its land being farmland. This day is held each year to educate students on the importance of our agricultural industry and to give them the opportunity to experience it for themselves. During this event, approximately 600 students saw seven major aspects of agriculture including large animals, small animals, row crop planting, beekeeping, farm machinery, wildlife and Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Chester County 4-H is shaping the lives of students every day by allowing their 4-H members to truly learn by doing.
