Chester County is making a name for itself on the gridiron. Their latest victim was Hardin County.
The first quarter was a game of defense. Hardin County got the ball first and could not move the ball, turning it over to the Eagles. Unfortunately, this drive ended with an interception.
On the Eagles’ next drive Peyton Barham took the ball and headed to the endzone, scoring one of his three touchdowns of the night.
The Eagles second touchdown of the night came after a long drive with Barham finding the endzone one again.
Following a Hardin County touchdown, the Eagles answered with another touchdown by quarterback Ethan Burks who carried the ball in the endzone bringing the score to 21-7 at the half.
Following a touchdown early in the third quarter, Hardin County answered with a touchdown and the extra point failed. The score was now 28-13.
Barham found the endzone again.
The clock ran out with the Eagles on top 36-28, and a season record of 3-2. They are 3-0 in the region.
Coach Dewond Johnson said, “the guys competed really hard tonight. We gave them the momentum right there before the half, but our guys responded with us scoring two more touchdowns. We also had a couple of stops. We still need to learn to finish and play four quarters.”
