The Chester County Belles were able to win each of their state tournament games in shutout fashion and became state champions.
The smallest victory they had was a 15-0 win.
“We always ask the girls to give 110 percent, to have a good attitude, and be a team player,” said Head Coach Casey Martin. “These girls have more than done that. They put in a ton of work through the long hot practices even when kids usually get bored with the repetitiveness they continue to push themselves. So when you get to play the games and all of that work gets recognized and rewarded it makes you extremely proud to see all the time and work payoff for the girls.”
The Chester County Darlings made it all the way to the Tennessee Darlings Championship but could not win it all.
“I’m so very proud of the talent, growth, and determination our team showed. Our girls’ hitting, base running, and defense made for an exciting tournament. This is an exceptional group of players with a promising softball career ahead of them,” said Coach Wes Murphy.
The 11/12 girls lost in the State Semifinals on Monday, July 19 and were eliminated, ,however, they was awarded the Sportsmanship Award after the Championship game was played.
The 5/6 girls played State Championship game tonight against Madison Central. Due to madison Central being undefeated, the Chester County girls had to defeat Madison Central twice to win the tournament.
