Both the Chester County Dixie Darlings (ages 7-8) and the Chester County Dixie Belles (ages 13-15) softball teams went to the World Series July 27 – Aug. 1.
The Darlings won third place overall in the World Series that consisted of 11 teams.
Unfortunately, the Belles’ season ended towards the beginning of the World Series tournament.
The coaches of both teams are very proud of their girls.
“The kids worked hard. They are a unique group of girls,” Coach Casey Martin of the Belles said. “I would like to thank all the businesses and people who supported us.”
The Darlings last game was close as they were up 6-4 against Alabama but fell behind and loss 7-6.
“These girls played hard,” Darlings Coach Reggie Patterson said. “It was heartbreaking, but it will be something good for them to look back at down the road.”
