By Kendall Patterson
The Eagles (5-5) make their way to Tullahoma (10-0) for the first round of the playoffs after defeating Liberty Tech Crusaders and leaving them winless for their season.
The final score was 41-6.
It was not much of a competition for the Eagles as Head Coach Steve Robinson was able to put in a lot of younger guys.
For the game, the Eagles passed for 109 yards and ran for 167 yards.
Defensively, player of the game Samuel Hannis made six tackles for a loss along with returning a bad punt for a touchdown.
Additionally, Tyricus Anderson caught two interceptions.
For the regular season as a whole, the Eagles scored 216 points during the regular season compared to the total points scored by their opponents – 245.
Offensively they were able to run for a total of 1,279 yards and pass for 1,306 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, Alex Lowe led the tackling charts with a total of 98 tackles for the regular season. Close behind him is Cooper bates with 95 tackles and Stephen Green with 92 tackles.
“We battled back toward the end of the season and overcome some adversities with the loss of some key players. I thought our kids, especially our younger kids, are getting some valuable experience on the offensive line,” said Robinson. “There are still mistakes being made, but hopefully the experience they gained toward the end of the season, we will see some carry-over to next year.”
