On Monday, August 16, the Chester County Eagles Volleyball team started their 2021 season against the Dyersburg Trojans.
It ended up being a contested match up.
After taking turns winning sets and the game tied 2-2, Dyersburg took control in the last set and won 15-5 during that set for the win.
Dyersburg normally is a tough team to play against. Volleyball Head Coach Susan Humpry said she likes to play against the Trojans earlier in the season to help evaluate how much work her girls need to do the rest of the season.
“It gives us a good, kind of, barometer to see where we’re gonna be. It tells me if we’re gonna be able to fight for some things. I saw some fight, but we still have a little ways to go,” she said.
There were still some notable stats though they lost.
Kara Pipkin stacked up her stats by getting 29 assists and 23 digs. Emma Compton and Payton Rhodes both jumped for many kills. Compton earned 17 and Rhodes earned nine.
