Due to the cancelation of the Tennessee American Legion Boys State, Inc. program at Tennessee Technological University this past summer as a result of the pandemic sweeping the USA, the selectees from Chester County High School were unable to use the fully-funded scholarships awarded during the rigorous selection process.
American Legion Davidson-Haltom Post 157 in Henderson is pleased to announce that those scholarships awards have been converted to in-kind cash scholarships for the selectees.
The selectees, now seniors at Chester County High School, will be able to use those cash scholarships to attend the college of their choice beginning in the Fall of 2021.
The four selectees were Luke Hunt of Henderson, Riley Bland of Beech Bluff, Riley Haltom of Jackson and Solomon Smith of Henderson. The two alternate selectees were Ethan Turmelen of Luray and Luke Noles of Luray.
Congratulations were extended to all these illustrious seniors on their many academic accomplishments and noteworthy extracurricular activities as they will ably represent American Legion Post 157, Chester County High School, and Chester County.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Chris Dunbar, commander of American Legion Post 157, at 731-608-5547.
