CCHS students cheer with excitement as the Eagles won their game in overtime.

Last Friday ended with excitement in Chester County.
The Chester County Eaglettes basketball team dominated Liberty Tech the entire game. At halftime, the Eaglettes already had their opponents beat 42-3, and by the end of it, the final score was 61-8.
The Eagles’ game against Liberty was closer and more exciting for the fans that came out to support them on homecoming night.
At the end of the first quarter, the Eagles were down by nine, 20-11, and decreased the deficit to seven points by halftime. The halftime score was 28-21.
The second half is what was thrilling for both sides.
The battle between the two teams forced them to go into overtime.
At the end of the third quarter, the Eagles were winning 40-35, but the Liberty Crusaders started winning with 2:32 remaining in the fourth quarter, 49-48.
Then it was neck and neck until the end. With the game tied at 54, the Eagles got the last shot of the fourth after Chance Thompson tried to make a three for the win, but it did not go in. Chad Barham tried to get the put-back shot in the bucket before the buzzer, but he was a little late.
Liberty scored the first shot in overtime, but Hunt Pipkin responded with two more points for Chester Co. With the score at 58-56 with 4.5 secs left the Crusaders foul Amaria Massengill on failed dunk attempt. Nonethless, he scored his free throws to make it a 4-point game. The Crusaders took one last shot and missed. The Eagles won 60-56.
