Chester County High School produced the musical “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” Dec. 6-9 at Williams Auditorium. This performance had approximately 50 students to participate. The set design was also made by the students.
The students along with their theatre director Mary Hicks, started rehersals in August.
At first with just having it as a 45-minute musical, the cast went to The Tennessee Association One Act Festival to perform it in Cleveland, Tenn. in October. Gideon McManus as Quasimodo won best performer out of all the schools and the Gargoyles (MK Miller, Carter Welch, Luke Noles and Jaiden Hickman) won All-Star Cast.
Then the cast and crew pulled in 15 more ensemble students and an adult choir to do the full two Act musical which they performed last weekend.
“It’s been an amazing experience just to be able to work with that kind of talent onstage,” Director Mary Hicks said.
