The Chester County Junior High Eagle Baseball team’s pride around the diamond proved to be greater than the Henderson South Lions’ pride after elimination Henderson South in the conference first round.
Entering the postseason, the Eagles started ranked No. 2 out of eight teams, thus they played the No. 7 Henderson South Monday.
It was not only a postseason win, it was a shutout, run-rule win for the Eagles that was over at the end of the third inning. The final score was 11-0.
In the first inning Lane Estes, Chase Crouse, Heath Stewart and Nolan Warren was able to find home plate for four runs.
Neither team scored in the second inning, but the Eagles held the Lions in the third while also scoring seven runs to end the game early.
Eagles who scored in the bottom of the third are Estes, Crouse, Stewart, Warren, Phelps who was a courtesy runner for Keaton Turner, Jaden Weaver and Dayton Lemmings. The feat during the game for the Eagles was when Stewart used his speed to hit an inside-the-park homerun on a line drive. The Eagles advanced to play Hardin County on Tuesday in the semifinals.
