The Chester County Lady Eagles Soccer team enter regionals after winning the district tournament last week.
Going into the tournament as number one in the district, Chester played Jackson South Side after JSS defeated Hardin County.
During the game against the Hawks, the Lady Eagles were tied with the Hawks 1-1 at the end of the first half, but by the end of the game, CCHS managed to score another two goals and keep their opponents to 1 goal. The final was 3-1.
Scorers in the game against South Side were Sydnie Quarles, Daisy McManus and Stephanie Gutierrez.
Then, in the district championship against McNairy, the Lady Eagles pulled off a shutout.
In the midst of the cold and rain, they still managed to beat their opponents 8-0. Quarles, Alina Greene and Ameriah Rose scored two points each, and Maelyn Stout and Katie Lovelace scored a goal as well.
“Proud of the girls. They showed who was the better team by far tonight,” said Head Coach Jason Judd.
When it comes to district awards, Chester County brought home all the MVPs with Alina Greene earning Offensive MVP, Emma Greene earning Defensive MVP and Stout earning Midfielder of the year. Judd said that all of them deserved the awards they received.
“Can’t say enough about them. All seniors. This is their fourth year to start and play. They’re deserving of every award,” he said.
On top of that, Judd earned Coach of the year.
The team played Dyersburg in regionals on Tuesday.
