On Wednesday, November 30th, Secretary of the State Tre Hargett and State Representative Kirk Haston presented Library Director Savannah Gilbert with a check for $4,324 for the TOP grant. This grant goes to help fund hotspots (a small device that offers internet service at your home at no cost when borrowed from the library) as well as to offer technology classes to the citizens of Chester County at no cost. Some classes the library has already offered are One-On-One training, How to Use Canva, and Online Medical resources. Past training sessions are available on our website for viewing. More training sessions will come available in January 2023. Also received was a technology grant for $1,847 which is being used to update the Microsoft Office suite on all computers, update three of our computers, and change a computer station to a children’s computer station complete with ABC Mouse, children’s headphones, a children’s keyboard, and a children’s mouse. Building Fund Fundraiser & Book Sale

From December 1st to the end of business day on December 30th, the Chester County Library is hosting a Building Fund Fundraiser. Preparations are underway for our upcoming expansion and this is a great opportunity for you to do some Christmas shopping as well as have a part in your local library’s expansion. To best maximize the funds we are receiving and to put aside additional funds for furniture, materials, etc., we are having this wonderful fundraiser. This book sale will look a little different than previously as it will have three sections.
Section 1- This will be like the good ole’ book sale that you are used to. Paperback books for $0.25, hardback books for $0.50, and a bag of books for $3.00. These books are used, some very well loved, but still great books. These books will have a colored sticker on them and will be housed in boxes.
Section 2- These books will be very nice condition books and/or new books and housed on a book shelf for easier viewing. Paperback books will be $1.00, hardback books $2.00, and a bag of books for $6.00. There will also be DVDs, audiobooks, puzzles, and technology items which will have the price listed on them.
Section 3- This section may be our favorite and should be your first stop for some phenomenal Christmas gifts! We have put together some book and DVD bundles ranging in price from $5.00 – $25.00. These bundles have been flying off the shelf and more are being added regularly.

Want to contribute but don’t want to actually buy anything? We do accept monetary donations! $100 to our building fund gets you a leaf on our tree plaque in the library. A donation of $1,000 or more gets you your own plaque on our wall. If the library receives $1,000 in donations during December to the building fund (separate from the book sale), an anonymous donor will match that with another $1,000! Don’t forget we have DVDs, books, t-shirts, and keepsake ornaments for sale.

As of 12/6/2022, the library has $325 in book sale earnings and $390 in donations. We have some wonderful items and books that will make great Christmas presents. Stop by and help us meet our goal today. Please remember we can accept cash or check only.
