The Chester County’s Trustee Office encourages property owners to pay 2020 property taxes before the noon Feb. 27 deadline. On Monday, March 1, 1.5 percent interest will be added to unpaid taxes.
Doing so relieves stress of the trustee’s office and staff.
Due to the pandemic, the office can have minimal customers at a time, which can be reduced by paying early or by an alternate method.
To help ease the stress, the office allows forms of payment by mail to P.O. BOX 386, Henderson, #86, Henderson, TN 38340; online at www.chesterpropertytax.com; by calling 1-877-589-8970 or by overnight dropbox in the lobby of their building at 159 East Main Street.
Also, the Trustee’s office hours have been extended to 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
During visits to make payments, customers are encouraged to practice social distancing and other safety measures to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus such as wearing a mask, staying six feet apart as much as possible and using the hand sanitizer stations in the building.
