City board meets today

The City of Henderson Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet in regularly scheduled session at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, in the council chamber of the city hall.
In addition to delegations, other business and updates, the board is set to consider action on a proposed ordinance to amend the Municipal Zoning Map of Henderson by rezoning tax parcels 5, 6, 7, 8 and 8.03, Chester County Tax Map 45 from R-1 (Low Density Residential) to B-1 (General Business). Parcels are further described as the north side of Jacks Creek Street from 425 through 505 Jacks Creek Street, which are owned by Chester County Board of Education. There will be a public hearing on the proposed rezoning and the board will consider passage of the Ordinance to Rezone.
Other items on the agenda include the following:

  • Consider an ordinance per requirements of Section 5 of the Henderson Municipal Code to set the mayor’s salary for the person that will be elected to the position in August 2024.
  • Appoint or re-appoint members to serve on the City Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Industrial Development Board and the City Park Advisory Board.
  • Discuss the required inspection of the elevated water tanks and the associated costs.
  • Discuss and consider purchasing gas material for the 2024 construction season.
