Hello to everyone! For this is a new day and a new week! Oh, how great it is to be here with you on this week because this is the day the Lord has made, and I am glad about it. Guess what, parents? Fall break is next week, Oct. 10-14, for Chester County. I hope you have a plan for the week so you and your child/children will enjoy the time off from school. Parents, please let your children know how much you love and appreciate them. They grow up so fast; enjoy them while you can. What breaks my heart the most is to hear a parent say, “I will be so glad when you grow up!” My grandmother, Zelma Bass, told me a long time ago to enjoy my children while they are in my lap and you can see them because one day they will be on your heart, and you will not be able to touch or see them. Teachers, relax, put your feet up and enjoy this week also because you have earned it.
I would like to share this great message that I received from a very blessed and special lady. She starts the message out: “Hello, everyone. My name is Valorie Griggs. First give a honor to God who is the head of my life. Oct. 4 will be one year since I had my brain surgery. I would like to thank God for blessing me to still be here. Also, thank you, everyone, for all of your prayers and phone calls.”
Ms. Valorie, thank you for giving God the Glory! God is a GOOD GOD ALL THE TIME!
Our condolences go out to the family of Mr. Randy McHaney. He was loved by so many and will be missed. Just remember – when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. You are in our prayers.
Pastor Appreciation Day is?Sunday, Oct. 9. This celebration happens in the month of October, which also happens to be Pastor Appreciation Month. The celebration of this day began with the idea to celebrate the contributions of Priests, Ministers, Reverends and Pastors to the country, especially in the United States. So Sunday, do something nice for your Pastor. Let him/her know how much you appreciate them.
The Greater Evangelical Ministry located at 1609 Airport Road, Selmer, will celebrate their Pastor, Apostle Frank Holiday, Sr.’s 25th Anniversary Service at 3 p.m. on Oct. 16. Family and friends are invited; please come out. For more information, call 608-6132.
Happy 32nd Wedding Anniversary to Pastor Marles and Sylvia Flowers. They will celebrate it on Oct 10. “Keep the honey in the moon,” as I always say! And we pray that you all will have many more years together! COVID tried to take you out two years ago, Pastor Marles, but the Lord said, “YOU SHALL LIVE AND NOT DIE!” To God be the Glory! Keep on preaching and teaching the Word of God!
Happy Birthday to Brenda DePriest, 10/4; Carolyn Dancy, 10/5; Donna Moody, 10/10; Melissa Hunt, 10/12; and Shanna Foster, 10/14. We pray the Lord will bless you with many more!
