City of Henderson discusses CDBG grant

During the Henderson Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting on February 10, there was a public hearing to discuss the fiscal year 2022 Community Development Block Grant application process. Henderson Fire Department showed interest in this grant for a project to purchase a fire pumper truck.
Representatives of local daycares Tender Loving Care and Keystone Academy were in attendance since they were in the application process for the CDBG Childcare Creation Grant Program through the Southwest Tennessee Development District.
The city approved for the Henderson Police Department to promote a sergeant to Captain. The Captain will oversee all criminal investigations.
The aldermen approved to reinstate the COVID-19 leave for city employees through June 2022.
The mayor and aldermen also decided to go forth with accepting bids on mowing the city cemeteries.
The motion to purchase two composite samplers for the East and South Lagoons at a cost of $7,000 each was carried.
The Henderson Utility Department reported how they are trying to find ways to be able to get the utility bills out in time.
