CLARENCE WELLS Obituary – SEPT. 25, 1940 – DEC. 13, 2021

Clarence Bishop Wells, 81, of Jackson passed away Dec. 13, 2021 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Mayor Jerry Gist officiating.
Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel beginning at 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Thursday.
He was born Sept. 25, 1940 in Chester County, the son of the late Owen and Johnnie Lott Wells.
In his early years, he worked for Dyersburg Water Department and later worked in construction work. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with farm animals and hunting.   He was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cecile Rolison Wells of Jackson; daughter, Renee Franks and grandson, Austin Franks of Dyersburg; stepdaughter, Rita Bailey of Jackson and stepson, Steve Rolison of Jackson; three brothers, Tom Wells and Bobby Wells of Beech Bluff and Charlie Wells of Cherokee, Ala.; and a sister, Betty Ross of Beech Bluff.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Clarence Neil Wells; and one brother, Jimmy Wells.
