The Chester County Commission is scheduled to meet in special session at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, to again discuss the upcoming 2024-2025 budget. The commission met Monday, July 22, in a special called meeting but failed to pass the budget committee’s first proposal. The budget committee met again Monday, July 29, making changes to the previous proposal, and will present their recommendations Monday Aug. 5.
The commission is set to approve 2024-2025 budgets for the school district, highway department, county general, library, solid waste and drug fund, and to approve the general debt service budget and all other budgets. Resolutions will be discussed for fixing the 2024-2025 tax rate for Chester County, for making appropriations for various funds, departments, institutions, offices and agencies of Chester County, and for funding the Chester County Volunteer Fire Department for 2024-2025.
