
Memorial services for David Belford Sprague were 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Chaplin Brent Pearce officiating.

He was born at Camp Blanding, Fla. He graduated from Wayne Central High School, Ontario, N.Y., in 1963, and Alfred Ag and Tech in 1966. His mom taught him to play the guitar. He played upright bass in high school and switched to electric bass from the garage band, Imperials, leading worship in churches, through to Jammers in his winter home in Florida. He particularly enjoyed jam sessions with Andy and Matt.
His employers were R.T. French, Rochester Telephone, and Xerox. His uncle fostered his interest in amateur radio. He connected with people all over the world, starting in high school and continuing through his adult life. After retirement, he and Anita traveled throughout the states, visiting many National Parks, museums, and historical sites, enjoying the beautiful variety of God’s creation. He will be greatly missed. God blessed his, and they know he’s dancing with Jesus now.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anita; sister, Diane; brother, Andrew (Lora); two sons, Mark (Agata) and Matt (Becky); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father, John, and his mother, Mary.
