Hello from Deanburg! I hope everyone had great week. I am sorry I did not get my news in last week.
Well, our hot summer is about over, but when exactly is the first day of fall? According to an article titled “When Is the First Day of Fall 2023? Look to the Autumn Equinox” by Terri Robertson, the autumn equinox, a time when the Earth’s equator lines up with the sun, signals the official beginning of fall.
“The first day of fall is Saturday, September 23, 2023—the same day as the autumn equinox—in the Northern Hemisphere….There are two equinoxes every year—one in September and one in March—and they occur at seasonal transition points, determining the first day of fall and the first day of spring….During an equinox, day and night are nearly equal in length. Thanks to light refraction and the fact that even a small portion of the sun peeking above the horizon lights the sky, day slightly edges out night on these days.” (www.CountryLiving.com/country life/travel).
Belated birthdays are Renee Landers, Beverly Collins and Dakota Roberts on Sept. 6; Todd Clayton and Carol Mainers on Sept. 7; Tyler Evans on Sept. 9; Neal Escue on Sept. 10; Betty Quarles and Sherry Escue on Sept. 11; Kimberly Weaver and Tim Harris on Sept. 12. I hope you all had a great birthday.
This week’s birthdays are Coley Tully on Sept. 13; April Collins and Carol Ann Perkins on Sept. 15; Cayce Perkins and Larry Shackleford on Sept. 17; and Jimmy Concialdi on Sept. 19. I hope your celebration gives you many happy memories!
On our prayer list are Woodie Deming, Joyce Stewart and Kristen Jones, and I hope you will continue to pray for me. I really appreciate it. Remember our first responders, law enforcement, our military and our nation. As always please pray for all sick, loss of loved ones, our nursing home people.
Our devotion: “Expect The Unexpected” – “‘For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.’ (NLT) (1 Thessalonians 5:2)
“As Believers we have to be ready for the day God calls us home. There will be a day when God’s just judgement will come to the Earth. For every person we are judged when we pass from this Earth to the next. This understanding brings passion and urgency to our Christian walk. Are you ready for God’s coming judgement? The Bible charges us to be those who expect what will come as a shock to the world when they get to see Jesus face-to-face.” http://jctrois.com
Have a blessed week and keep smiling!
