I have been loving the cooler temperatures as I know everyone has, but the heat is on its way back to torment us!
My second great-grandson was born Saturday. Waylon Kade weighted seven pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 inches long. Mason is three months old now, and they are going to be best buds I know. We are so blessed!
Prayer requested for Kristen Jones, Brianna Landers, Woodie Deming and Joyce Stewart. As always pray for our first responders, our law enforcement, our state, local leaders and national leaders and our great nation.
Our devotion this week: “Do You Turn To Prayer In Crisis?” by Adrian Rogers, Aug 1, 2022
“PRAY OVER THIS: ‘Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.’…(Acts 12:5)
“What were the disciples going to do? How were they going to get Peter out of prison? Were they going to organize a mob and storm the prison? Not a chance. Were they going to put some petitions up? Were they going to say, ‘We are influential citizens in this city, and we demand that you release Simon Peter?’ They had no influence. Were they going to take a collection to get a lot of money to go in and bribe Herod? They didn’t have any money. What they had, they had distributed to feed the poor and to take care of those who were in distress in that time.
“I’ll tell you what they were going to do. They were going to pray. The intellectuals would sneer and say, ‘Look at these silly people down on their knees in prayer.’ I’ll tell you one person who didn’t sneer: the devil. It has well been said that Satan trembles when he sees the weakest saint upon his knees. There is an animal named the gnu, and when he’s attacked, he drops to his knees. Oh, that the Church could learn the same thing. Every other door was closed, but there was one that was open, and it went straight up. They could pray.”
We have a few birthdays – Alex Evans on Aug. 3, Sandra Landers and Elaine Kerley on Aug. 7 and Mike Weaver on Aug. 9. Have a great birthday!
Happy anniversary to Michael and Sharon Hopper on Aug. 6!
Quote of the week: “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” – www.medium.con
