Hello once again from Deanburg. I am already busy getting ready for Christmas as I know most of you are. It is really hard to find three baby gifts alike.
Happy birthday to Ricky Quarles on Dec. 12. “Work hard. Play hard. Eat lots of cake. That’s a good motto for your birthday and for life.” – www.proflowers.com
I was so sorry to hear that Elizabet (Liz) Kinchen had passed away. She was a sweet lady. I only met her this year but loved talking to her. My condolences to the family.
Continue to pray for Woodie Deming, Kirsten Jones, Joyce Stewart and a good friend of mine, Myrna Stanfill. Pray for our first responders, law enforcement, our local and state government and our great nation! We need to pray more than ever.
Our devotion this week: “God is with us.
“This is first and greatest truth of Christmas. God is with us. The Bible says, ‘The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us’ (John 1:14). We do not work our way to God but in Christ, God comes to us. If you’ve ever felt like God is indifferent or uncaring toward you, remember the story of Christmas. Remember that God pursued you in Christ, and He continues to do so. We do not worship a distant God but rather a dwelling God – the God who makes His home among us, the God who is Immanuel, the God who is with us!
“‘Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means “God is with us”’ (Matthew 1:23 NLT).
“Prayer: Lord, thank you for always being with me. You promise to never leave me or forsake me. When I am tempted to doubt your presence, remind me that in Christ, you came to me. In Jesus name, amen.” www.Hopefortheheart.org
At Christmas time we need to remember the reason we have a Christmas and pray for those that have lost loved ones and are grieving through this time. Holidays are really hard on people, remembering all the great holidays with those that have passed. Our family will be celebrating the birth of our Savior and thinking about our sweet daughter we lost. I pray for all of the ones that have lost someone dear to them especially this year since it is still so recent. God bless you all! Please call at 879-9777 me if you have anything you want in this column.
