Samuel Donald Robison, 73, of Finger passed away Nov. 15, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
He was born June 30, 1948 in Gibson County, the son of the late Samuel Edward and Lora Agnes Wharton Robison. He grew up in Finger and graduated from Bethel Springs High School in 1966. He married Lilah Patterson on March 30, 1968. They made their home in Finger. He worked for Owens Corning in Jackson for about 15 years. He then began working in maintenance for Chickasaw State Park retiring in March of 2021, after over 30 years.
He was an avid fisherman, especially crappie; he loved being around his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a faithful provider.
He is survived by his wife, Lilah Elizabeth Patterson Robison of Finger; two sons, Shane (Shawna) Robison of Finger and Jonathan (Jennifer) Robison of Bethel Springs; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Clayton of Bethel Springs and Brenda Law of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Todd Robison in 1997; and one sister, Bobbye Jean McElvey.
