DORIS OLNESS Obituary – Dec. 27, 1944 – Jan. 6, 2020

Doris Ann Hill Olness, 75, of Henderson passed away Jan. 6, 2020 at Briarwood Community Living Center in Lexington.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Ken Kitchen officiating.
Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.
She was born Dec. 27, 1944 in East St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of the late Edward Ralph and Dorothy Ann James Hill. She graduated from East St. Louis High School.
She married Charles Crame, and they made their home in East St. Louis. She later married C.J. ‘Ole’ Olness in 1967.
They made their home in Missouri before moving to Henderson in 1979. She worked at Chester County Sportswear, The Chester County Independent, owned and operated the Sweet One on Main Street and then began working in the Chester County Tax Assessors Office doing business tax assessments and retired from the Tax Assessors Office in Somerville.
She enjoyed cooking, photography and helping others. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Henderson.    
She is survived by four sons, Mike Crame and Shawn (Regina) Olness, all of Henderson, Larry (Shellie) Olness of Sartell, Minn., and Steve Olness; two daughters, Trish (Franklin) Smith of Brownsville and Shelly;  12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Hill of Swanwick, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C. J. Olness; a grandson, Brandon Richardson; and a brother, Bill Hill.
