Driver crashes through gate at Americana

At 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 15, local first responders arrived on the scene where a vehicle had crashed through Americana Inn’s gate off of Sanford St.
According to the Henderson Police Department, the car, a 2005 gold Nissan Altima, driven by 29-year-old Deonta Hale of Bethel Springs, was traveling North on Sanford St. when it left the roadway, hit a speed limit sign then hit the fence in front of Americana Inn with both the sign and fence being destroyed.
Also in the vehicle was the car’s owner, 49-year-old Roma Croom of Henderson.
The police report said Hale was charged with driving under the influence, violation of the implied consent law, violation of the Financial Responsibility Act and driving without a driver’s license.
No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.
