The Eagles are soaring to the regionals with a district championship under their belt.
Last Saturday in a semifinal matchup versus Hardin County, the Eagles were in a tough position after being down 0-4 going into the bottom of the fourth, but they kicked into gear and scored six runs in the bottom of the inning led by a hit by Chase Garner. Then, they kept adding and adding while keeping Hardin off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game and defeated Hardin 11-4. That win gave them an automatic regionals tournament berth.
Hardin County was not done fighting though, as they advanced to the district championship as well.
With CCHS having no losses and Hardin County having one going into the day of the district championship, the Tigers had to defeat Chester County twice to win it all.
Hardin got the best of the Eagles in the first game with a final score of 2 Eagles, 10 Tigers.
The Eagles were on fire with their bats when they needed to be in the last game and flipped the score on Hardin County for a 11-3 district championship win.
Hunter McLemore earned the District regular season MVP, Brooks Johnson earned the Dsitrict Tournament MVP Award and Eagles Head Coach earned the District Coach of the Year Award.
