As the sun began to set, the Chester County Eagles family and friends began to fill the stands, while our Eagles prepared to take on the Bulldogs in Milan. The Eagles ran out onto the field with lots of fight and determination in their voices Friday night. Though the final score ended up being 44 to 14 the Chester County Eagles never gave up; but they played their hearts out until the buzzer sounded at the end of the fourth quarter. The Eagles came out in the first quarter ready to play, but they needed that extra boost of encouragement from their coaches and one another to get them to that certain level in order for them to battle against the Bulldogs defense. The Eagles offense battled throughout the first quarter as they struggled to get the ball down the field against the Bulldogs defense. With less than six minutes on the clock in the first quarter the Eagles were still scoreless, but they continued to gain momentum as the Bulldogs had sixteen points on the board. The first couple of pass attempts in the first quarter were close, but not enough to get the Eagles on the score board before the quarter ended. Coming up short in the first quarter did not stop the Eagles from fighting back throughout the rest of the games. The Eagles kept pushing and fought harder in the second quarter against the Bulldogs.
In the second quarter the Eagles began to make progress. The Eagles made more successful passes throughout the quarter, but flags being thrown and not making it far enough down the field kept them from scoring. The last two quarters were still a bit rough, but the Eagles showed the Bulldogs that they were not giving up but fighting until the clock ran out. In the fourth quarter the Chester County Eagles did everything they could to get another touchdown on the board and they did just that when senior Aidan Welch scored with less than 10 minutes on the clock. In each quarter, play by play the Eagles fought as hard as they could, but not enough to bring home the win.
