Leading scorers for the night were Brooke Ketchum and JuJu Prather with seven each; Ester Osburn with three; and Hanna Cherry and Kloe Taylor with two each. Following the game Head Coach Lee Pipkin said, “I feel like every game we are getting better. We just need to basically get these girls playing time. Especially the guards, they are new and replacing some good guards. They have to get comfortable on the court. Every game we have gotten better from the first half to the second. We’ve played three different styles of teams and I just feel like each game the girls were able to adjust. We’re getting better each game. I love these girls, and I can’t wait to see how far they can get.” The Eagles had a slow start trailing at the end of the first quarter 9-14. They bounced back in the second quarter and were ahead 23-21 at intermission. The Eagles extended their lead in the third quarter 36-30 and put the Lions away in the final period capturing the win 43-36. Leading scorers for the night were Christian Halfored with 13; Jayden Williams with 10; Aiden Welch with eight; Jayce Goff with six; and Peyton Barham and Christian Swift with three each. First year Head Coach Tarius Johnson said, “This was a rough one. We didn’t execute and we should have make things easier but we made them harder. I’m glad we came out with the win, but we have got to hit the lab and we’ve got a lot of work to do.”
