Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week. This is the last week of Daylight Saving Time. It ends on Sunday, Nov. 7. Be sure to fall back one hour before going to be on Saturday, so you will be on time for church on Sunday. I do not like the time change. I do not like it getting dark so early. The nights seem so long, and it feels too late to do anything after dinner. It will take everyone a while to adjust, but we will.
Veterans Day is Nov. 11. It is a tribute to military veterans who have served and are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. This day is sometimes confused with Memorial Day, which honors those who died while in service. Veterans Day, which was once called Armistice Day, was changed on June 1, 1954. There will many activities, such as parades to show your support of veterans who serve in the military. Be sure to thank a veteran for their service!
On our prayer list this week is Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Harold and Janice Maness, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Jo Marie Holmes, Gail Durbin, Shirley Hampton, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Linda and Robert Johnson, Eugene Springer, Jimmy Robertson, Genny Sue Martin, Alice Starnes, Kathy Emerson, Ann Pugh, Tim Harris, Roger Henson, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, those affected by COVID and, as always, each other.
Enville says Happy Birthday to Kim Alexander and Debbie Vinson on Nov. 6 and Ann Pugh on Nov. 9. Hope you all enjoy your special day!
