Hello from Enville! I hope you all are having a great week. I am liking the warm temperatures but not so much the new time. I hope you all are adjusting well. It will take awhile for me, but we will get used to it.
Veterans Day is Saturday, Nov. 11. There will be many veterans programs to attend if you wish to. Be sure to thank a veteran for their service to us and our country.
We want to congratulate Jonathan Timmer from Enville for being one of 25 FHU students inducted into the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. All the semester inductees had at least a 3.9 GPA. Alpha Chi membership is by invitation only to juniors and seniors with a minimum grade point average of 3.75 on at least 80 earned credit hours and must be in the top 10% of their class to qualify. Jonathan is earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Congrats, Jonathan!
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Maggie’s Restaurant in Enville is having a Thanksgiving Dinner from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Nov. 23. They are located at 8450 Main Street, Enville. Their menu will consist of ham, turkey, mashed potatoes w/gravy, dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce and rolls. Desserts are pecan pie, pumpkin pie or cheesecake. All sides, drinks and dessert are included. All dinners will need to be purchased in advance with the cutoff date of Friday, Nov. 17. Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Brian O’Neal and
Glenn Butts on Nov. 15 and my hubby, Danny Johnson on Nov. 16, who happened to be born on his mother’s birthday. It was always an honor for them to share the same birthday.
Please pray for the family of Brenda Watkins and continue prayers for Amanda Johnson, Lisa Bishop, Agnes and Robert Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Robert and Linda Johnson, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Loretta Plunk, Anita Needler, Vicki Dickson, Sherry Webb, Jean Pickett, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Mike Finley, Lee Trice, Clint Murley, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county, country and, as always, each other.
