Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a great week. October is here, and I am loving these temperatures and all the fall colors that are showing already. Fall break for Chester County Schools will be next week. I hope you will have fun and be safe whatever you do! Columbus Day is Monday, Oct. 10. It is a U.S. holiday that commemorates Christopher Columbus’ landing in America in 1492. Columbus Day became a federal holiday in 1937. Federal workers will have the day off with pay. There is no mail delivery, and banks will also be closed.
Danny and I recently spent a week in the mountains. The leaves were changing, but really no more than here yet. It was beautiful as usual. Gatlinburg is our happy place! We have some weeks booked at our place ready to rent to go see the awesomeness of the mountains. They are Nov. 26-Dec. 3 and two for Dec. 9-16. Call me for details.
Monday was our granddaughter Reece’s birthday. We celebrated her with Papaw’s good grilled hamburgers and my egg pie at her request! We love this girl!
The Chester County Junior High School softball season is over. Those girls went the entire season without losing a game in school competition, 18-0. We are so proud of their hard work. Also, we are thankful to Coach Murphy for his great coaching and dedication to his team. Way to go, team!
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Tera O’Neal on Oct. 8 and Dalton Swafford on Oct. 10. We hope you enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Deb Finley, Lisa Bishop, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Nicole Thompson, Amanda Johnson, Florence Stublaski, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Rick Ooley, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Kathy Emerson, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Carolyn Wright, Jimmy Robertson, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools, school board, bus transportation (we have two new bus drivers on board this week) and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
