Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. Hopefully, all the kiddos only went to houses or gatherings of folks they know and got lots of candy! We had lots of fun handing out candy at church. We saw lots of ghosts and goblins, and everything in between. It is almost as much fun for the adults as it is for the children.
Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, so before you go to bed on Saturday night, turn your clocks back one hour so you will be one time for Sunday School and church; otherwise, you may be the only one there for an hour. I think I have that right! Ha.
Do not forget that the Enville Volunteer Fire Department is having a fish fry and cakewalk fundraiser at 4 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Enville Community Center; there will also be chicken strips for those who may not eat fish. Come on out for good food and fellowship. Bring a cake and maybe take two or three home with you. We always have fun! The proceeds will go to purchase needed fire equipment. Hope to see everyone there!
Roby Fire Department is having a chili supper along with hamburgers and hotdogs and a cakewalk at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. Please support these fire departments!
The Enville Community Club had a great Veterans Appreciation Dinner and Program on Tuesday night. Everyone had a good time!
Please be in prayer for the family of Jack O’Neal; he went to his heavenly home on Sunday. Jack was certainly an icon in the Enville Community and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Continue prayers for Deb Finley, Lisa Bishop, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Nicole Thompson, Amanda Johnson, Carolyn Wright, Linda and Robert Johnson, Rick Ooley, Ashley Pugh, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Tim Harris, Larry and Priscilla Gilbert, Jimmy Robertson, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Kathy Emerson, Loretta Plunk, Mike Pugh, Florence Stublaski, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, all those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, school bus transportation and, as always, each other.
If you have news, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125. Have a blessed week everyone!
