Our Chester County Club would like to spotlight our men and women in blue this month by honoring one of our local Sheriff’s Deputies – Eric Talbott.
Deputy Talbott was born in Jackson and raised in McNairy County, but attended Chester County Schools. His parents are Brian and Andrea (Griffin) Talbott. After high school, Eric worked with his dad in a family owned business installing vinyl siding and gutters.
Deputy Eric Talbott started his career in Law Enforcement on March 3, 2017. He first started as a Corrections Officer. He remained in that position for two-and- half years. On Sept. 4, 2019, he was promoted to a new job as one of the Chester County Sheriff’s Deputies.
When asked when he knew he wanted to be a public servant, Deputy Talbott says he realized he wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement as early as age 13.
When asked about his personal and professional accomplishments, Deputy Talbott says from a personal perspective – he said it would be marrying his beautiful wife, Jessica. Professionally speaking, he says it would be graduating from TLETA Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy.
For fun, Eric says he enjoys spending his free time with family and being outdoors. He especially enjoys fishing and both deer and rabbit hunting
His future plans include continuing his career with the Sheriff’s Department and one day earn the rank of Investigator.
When asked what he hopes people will remember about him, Deputy Talbott responded by saying he hopes people remember that he was professional in performing his duties as a deputy. but also hope to be remembered as a fair, trustworthy individual who enjoys serving the community.
I am certainly proud and honored to be able to present Deputy Eric Talbott before the Club and before the public as a true hometown hero who is serving us faithfully.
I believe we in Henderson are abundantly blessed to have such fine Police and Sheriff Departments. Our hope, faith and confidence in men like Deputy Talbott is well placed and most deserved.
