Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle collision which occurred at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, on Highway 45 North at the State Route 100 East access ramp. According to the THP preliminary report, the vehicles collided at the intersection. The black 2023 Ford Escape, pictured at left, came to a stop on the highway and a white 2009 Nissan Altima came to a stop off the roadway, beyond the tree line. The collision resulted in the death of the Altima’s passenger and injury to the driver. Traffic was rerouted to South Church Avenue, bypassing the wreck site where a number of emergency personnel were on scene.
