The 2024 Chester County High School Eagle Football Team was honored last week at its annual Football Awards Banquet. The Eagles are coming off the best season in recent school history, finishing the regular season 8-2 and taking the top slot in Region 6. They advanced to the second round of the state playoffs, losing to reigning state champ Pearl Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School from Nashville. Four Eagle players received top Region 6 awards. They include Peyton Barham – Player of the Year; Kalvin Meadows – Offensive Lineman of the Year; Blake Thompson – Defensive Lineman of the Year; and Linkin Phillips – Kicker of the Year. Players selected to the All-Region team include: Ethan Burks – First Team Offense; Colton Trice – First Team Offense; Jerome Thomas – First Team Offense; Jameson Rowland – Second Team Offense; Aiden Welch – Second Team Offense; Gabe Singleton – Second Team Offense; Landon Lewis – First Team Defense; Jeremiah Gardner – First Team Defense; Jayden Williams – First Team Defense; Jaylen Edgeston – Second Team Defense; Cayden Talley – Second Team Defense; and Chase Crouse – Second Team Defense. The top team awards went to: Peyton Barham – Most Valuable Player; Ethan Burks – Offensive Player of the Year; Landon Lewis – Defensive Player of the Year; Jerome Thomas/Jayden Williams – Most Improved; Dean Estes – Platinum Eagle (Highest GPA); Colton Trice – Big Eagle Award (Coaches); Jordan Hunt – Blue Eagle Award (Scout Team); and Blake Thompson – Toughest Eagle. Players and cheerleaders named to the All-Academic Team (3.0 GPA or above) were: Jaylen Edgeston, Aiden Welch, Dean Estes, Colton Trice, Colt James, Landyn Boehm, Gabriel Singleton, Jameson Rowland, Aniyah Croom, Emily Weekley, and Karley Heinsohn.
