Freed-Hardeman softball continues to rake in accolades with three student-athletes honored as All-Americans. Two additional Lady Lions have been bestowed an honorable mention in the All-America voting. Brittany Adair and Sophie Dunavant were both at the top of the charts, both making the First Team. Adair was a threat in the circle all season, leading the country in strikeouts per game, averaging 12.06 strikeouts per game.
The Mid-South Conference Pitcher of the Year ended her season with a 19-1 record including three saves. Dunvant was given top marks as one of two first-team catchers. The MSC Player of the Year concluded her year batting .404 while driving in 61 runs. Her 82 hits led the Lady Lions in 2022 while falling just two hits short of FHU’s single-season hits record.
Chloe Winters was honored to the All-America second team. Winters’ microscopic 0.90 ERA placed her at #4 on the NAIA leaderboard for lowest earned run average. Winters was 17-2 on the year with three saves.
Earning honorable mentions were Morgan Crawford and Kennedy Harris. As part of the three-pronged pitching attack for the Lady Lions, Crawford appeared in 23 games, starting 13 of those. She tallied a 13-2 record while tossing three shutouts. Harris was the epitome of a leadoff hitter, leading the team with a .450 on-base percentage. Though reaching base often she did not stay on base long as she swiped a program-record 39 stolen bases en route to her career record-holding 66 steals. Harris also led the team in home runs (13) and slugging percentage (.673).
