The first set started off pretty back and forth before the Lady Lions went on a long run behind the serve of Emma Campbell.
Things started to get dramatic, though, in the second set when neither team could find a way to get an advantage over the other.
The set went all the way to extra time, but the Lady Lions were able to pull away to take a 2-0 set lead after winning 31-29.
In the third set, the Bears were able to take control mid-way through, and led 21-17 late in the set, looking to force a fourth. But the Lady Lions were able to go on a late run to tie things up at 21, and even have match point at 24-22.
But Pikeville was able to tie things up at 24, before the Lady Lions earned the next two points and the sweep to open up conference play.
Kacey Donegan and Jayden Watkins led the way offensively with 12 kills each. Dongegan finished with 14 digs for the double-double.
Allie Humphry came away with 33 assists and nine digs, and Campbell matched Donegan with 14 digs of her own.
