Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions Volleyball season ends in Bowling Green

The Lady Lions volleyball team (16-16) fell in straight sets (16-25, 21-25, 15-25) on Thursday to Shawnee State (11-11) in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
It was all Bears from the start, going on a 7-2 run in the first set after being tied 3-3 early on.
The Lady Lions took an early 4-3 lead in the second set, but Shawnee State was able to bounce back and lead by as many as six. The Lady Lions were able to cut the deficit to two at 23-21, but Shawnee was able to close it out to take a 2-0 lead, and they were able to cap off the sweep without trailing in the third set.
The Lady Lions were led by Kacey Donegan with 17 kills in the match. Emma Self finished with 16 assists, followed by Allie Humphry with 13. Reilly Fulton ended the contest with 15 digs.
Donegan earned Second Team All-Conference honors, and Fulton was named All-Conference Honorable Mention.
They were both joined by Self, Ashlynne Clifft, Emma Campbell, Shea Dean, Rachel Hudgins, Bryce Morris, Katie Speaks and Claire Walker on the Academic All-Conference Team.
