Freed-Hardeman University announces inaugural Roar Awards

The Freed-Hardeman University athletic department has planned an inaugural “Roar Awards” to be held on April 22.
The student-athletes of each of FHU’s 16 varsity sports will be honored with awards from their coaches in addition to awards voted on by their fellow student-athletes.
Among the department-wide awards include the “Charlie Smith Heart of the Lion,” “Outstanding Male Athlete,” “Outstand-ing Female Athlete” and “Outstanding Individual Accomplishment.”
Student-athletes will vote among their teammates for awards such as “Best Christian Example,” “Best Teammate,” and “Team MVP.”
Held in the Brewer Sports Center, festivities begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 22. Ticket sales will end on Saturday, April 15.
Adult tickets to the gala and dinner are $50, while children aged 6-18 and non-athlete FHU students will be $25.
