More than 160 persons have registered to attend Freed-Hardeman University’s Golden Year Reunion June 16-18, 2021. The reunion will honor the classes of 1970 and 1971; however, alumni who graduated earlier than 1970 are also invited to attend.
Attendees will reminisce about their days at FHC and renew friendships built during their time at the college. The event will include singings in Chapel Hall, devotionals, a reunion concert by The Henways and The Freedom Five, and tours of historic Feed-Hardeman buildings: Old Main, Chapel Hall and the Hardeman House.
Special events include a Wednesday trip to Graceland for those who would like to participate and a Thursday presentation by Doug Bates, III, regarding the World War II experiences of his father, Doug Bates, II.
“I am thankful we are able to reopen our campus to our Golden Year Reunion alumni. We were so sad last year when we had to cancel the reunion due to COVID-19,” Chris Ramey, director of alumni engagement, said. “This reunion is very special to us. It provides an opportunity to transport these alumni back to their precious days at FHC.”
